About us
Clinical Research Unit (Homoeopathy) was established in January 1980 at a rented building at Middle Point, Port Blair. It has shifted to a rented building at Deen Street, Junglighat, Sri Vijaya Puram with better infrastructure in April 2024. The Institute had been in the forefront of patient care and research for the last 44 years. The institute has been established with focus on research and is engaged for overall development and promotion of Homoeopathic system of medicine through scientific research. There is full-fledged clinical set up having OPDs, with specialty clinics viz. Mother and Child Health Clinic and Rheumatology Clinic running successfully within the Institute. Apart from catering to the needs of the patients, the institute carries out research in the field of Drug Proving and Clinical Research. The Unit had conducted out-reach activities like health camps in remote villages etc. The Unit is a Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre under Pharmacovigilance Program for ASU & H Drugs, Ministry of Ayush since 2022.Own/Rented building Rented Extension required or not Future planning for shifting to own land is needed If required submit the cost benefit plan CRU (T), Port Blair unit is situated in a rented house from inception Letter given to DC, South Andaman for allotment of land for office space, but no reply has been received till date. Future vision
Strengthening of Infrastructure for developing Unit into a Centre of Excellence and upgrading it into a Regional Research Institute for research. Aims to acquire own land to establish a multi-faceted Research Centre on it and achieve NABH & NABL accreditation. Future Collaboration with other research institutes/ medical hospitals in the area for taking up research studies to assess role of Homoeopathy for different diseases prevalent in coastal regions etc. To create a centre of Excellence for referrals for homoeopathic Treatment. Aims for significant contribution in implementation of health policy of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. It also aims for Public Health Research, with special emphasis on Tribal Health.
