Research Studies
1. Drug Proving Program
Eversince Hahnemann discovered homoeopathy, Drug proving has been playing a major role in the development in homoeopathy. In fact it forms the very basis on which therapeutic application of Homoeopathic drugs is based. Drug proving is peculiar to homoeopathy where the pathogenetic effects of drugs are ascertained by experimentation on healthy human volunteers.
Under this programme coded drugs are proved on healthy human volunteers using Drysdale’s double blind technique under approved protocols, guidelines and directives of CCRH, New Delhi. The institute conducts drug proving to record the signs and symptoms of coded drugs on healthy volunteers both medicos and non medicos. Both the provers and the proving master are unaware of the medicine being proven (Double Blind Method). So far, 20 drugs have been proved under this programme by the Institute. Till date coded drugs have been proved successfully. Till date around 108 drugs have been proved.
Clinical Verification Programme
In homoeopathy Clinical verification of Drug pathogenesis is as important as original proving of drugs on Healthy human beings because the signs and symptoms obtained during a proving need repeated confirmation through clinical application in order to make a successful prescription,
Clinical verification not only provides help in confirmation of the available data but also some other Clinical signs and symptoms which may be attributed to the drug. So far, 51 drugs have been proved and Study of Clinical Verification Programme of 16 drugs is going on since April 2014.
Clinical Research studies.
To trace out a set of efficacious medicines in various disease conditions and to study the role of a particular drug in a disease condition clinical research is being carried out based on recent medical parameters. The institute has conducted several clinical research studies and as per the assignments randomized controlled trials have been taken up in the research areas of National importance. Special days are assigned to each doctor/investigator for enrolment/screening/follow up of the research cases, in addition to their regular general OPD duties.
Open Clinical trials
‘A multi-centric, open observational study to evaluate response to homoeopathic treatment in Vitiligo since March 2014. 67 cases screened and 59 cases enrolled. Follow up continuing.
Drug Validation Study
Validation of commonly used homoeopathic drugs for acne: A prospective observational study Pretrial. 65 cases screened and 60 enrolled.
