Homoepathy was discovered by a German Physician, Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), In the late eighteen century. It is a therapetic systemof medicine premised on the principle,"Similia Similibus Curentur" or 'let likes be treated by likes'. It is a method of treatment for curring the patient by medicines that posses the power of producing similar symptoms in a human being simulating the natural disease, which it can cure in the diseased person, It treates the patients not only through holistic approach but also considers individuaistic characteristics of the person. This concepts of 'Law of Similars' was also enuncaited by Hippocrates and Paracelsus, but Dr. Hahnemann established it on a scientific footing despite the fact that he lived in an age when modern laboratory methods were almost unknown.

About us
The Regional Research Institute for Homoeopathy, Guwahati, functions under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, dedicated to research and patient care in the field of Homoeopathic medicine.
The Institute was initially established as a Clinical Research Unit (H) in rented accommodation in the year 1984. Recognizing the need to expand research activities, it was upgraded to the status of a Regional Research Institute (H) in 2004 with the merger of CRU(H), Diphu. In 2014, the Clinical Research Unit for Homoeopathy (T), Shillong, was merged with RRI(H), Guwahati, further strengthening the institute’s research and clinical infrastructure.
At present, the Institute is functioning from the premises of the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), located at Borsojai, Bhetapara, Guwahati. The Institute continues to carry forward the mandate of CCRH by conducting research, providing patient care, and promoting the advancement of Homoeopathic science in the region.

Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro and other State officials are in constant touch in this regard. |

Future vision
Regional Research Institute (Homoeopathy), Guwahati envisions becoming a premier centre for Homoeopathic research and healthcare in Assam and the entire Northeast region. The institute aspires to develop state-of-the-art infrastructure with advanced research and healthcare facilities to better serve the people of Assam and neighbouring states.
RRI(H), Guwahati is committed to adopting multifaceted and ambitious approaches to expand its research domains and healthcare outreach. Integration with other AYUSH systems and collaboration with health organisations will be prioritised to address the diverse medical needs of the region effectively.

- Metabolic Dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD) Study: Investigating the role of Homoeopathy in managing MASLD.
- Tuberculosis Preventive Project: Exploring the preventive role of Homoeopathic medicines in tuberculosis management.
- Chronic Urticaria RCT: Homoeopathic intervention as an add-on therapy versus placebo.
- Cataract Study: Clinical evaluation of Homoeopathic interventions for cataract cases.
- Erectile Dysfunction Study: Research on the efficacy of individualized Homoeopathic treatment in erectile dysfunction.
- Cervical Spondylosis RCT, etc.
Through these initiatives, RRI(H), Guwahati aims to strengthen evidence-based Homoeopathic research, promote integrative healthcare, and contribute to the well-being of the people of Northeast India.
